Description

Leicester City Council MOT Testing station is seeking expressions of interest for the supply, fitting, and initial calibration where required, of MOT testing equipment (see 1, 2, 3 and 4 below), and an on-going service/calibration contract (see 5 below).

The equipment will be used intensively every working day and needs to be from a quality manufacturer to withstand this use without regularly developing faults.

The equipment sought is a follows:

1. One VOSA (Vehicle and Operator Services Agency) MOT class 7 ATL (Automated Testing Lane) approved, four post, hydraulic vehicle lift.

– Minimum 5 tonnes lifting capacity.
– Minimum 5.7 metre platform length.
– A minimum of 2.1 metre combined platform width, with a minimum of 630mm wide for each platform.
– Suitable for surface or pit mounting.
– The lift needs to be ATL approved, being fitted with approved play detectors for steering and suspension, and to incorporate steering radius plates.

The station already has a compressor serving its three Class IV vehicle lifts; the new lift, which will need to have a similar pneumatic safety locking system, will need to be plumbed into the existing pneumatic circuit and the cost of this will need to be incorporated into the quotes. The exhaust extraction system will need to be extended or altered to reach vehicles positioned on the new lift.

Set of wheel chocks. Set of mirrors for one man vehicle light testing.

2. One vehicle jacking beam to be used on the above class 7 vehicle lift.

– Minimum 3 tonnes lifting capacity.
– Manual operation.
– To be supplied with a set of screw adjustable lifting pads, also a set of both standard and high lift aluminium lifting blocks.

3. One VOSA Class 4 and 7 approved, vehicle headlamp beam tester.

4. Four rechargeable LED torches and a set of MOT tools and associated display board.

5. A service and calibration contract for four years covering the new equipment.
