Future Cities Catapult requires a suitably capable and experienced Supplier to provide the Catapult’s programme of learning and development activities for 2016-17. The supplier will be required to design and deliver both a Foundation Skills programme and a Management Skills programme by April 2016. Foundation Skills: In order to compliment the academic learning and expertise that our people already bring to their roles, our foundation skills programme will focus on developing greater commercial skills within the organisation. Specific areas of focus include (but at not necessarily limited to): a. Negotiation skills; b. Persuasion and influencing skills; c. Consulting skills; d. Building business cases; e. Translating intentions into commercial actions; f. Bidding processes; g. Calculating business returns on a project; h. Stakeholder and client management; i. Expectations management; j. Presentation skills; k. Budgeting and financial knowledge for non-financial managers; l. Running effective meetings and facilitating discussions towards agreeing actions; m. Time management and prioritisation of self, and others; n. Problem solving. Management Skills: The management skills should have a specific focus on: a. Managing high performing teams (good to great performance management); b. Managing the utilisation and time of others; c. Building collaboration within and across diverse teams; d. Managing teams and individuals towards achieving objectives in an OKR model; e. Adaptive and inspirational management; f. Financial understanding, budgeting and senior commercial management; g. Strategic alignment; h. Recognition and motivation towards results; i. Setting up employees for success in their role (how to on-board new employees).
