Network Rail (NR) requires the manufacture and supply of under sleeper pads issued to our concrete sleeper providers for fitment. The under sleeper pads need to be cast into the concrete sleepers while the concrete is still wet.
The purpose of under sleeper pads is to provide ballast longevity and reduce tamping requirements.
Tenderers will be required to have a modelling capability to supply under sleeper pads of various sizes and stiffness.

II.2.1)Total quantity or scope:

Network Rail (NR) requires the manufacture and supply of under sleeper pads in order to meet the needs of its internal and external customers for railway works in Great Britain.
The indicative volumes are currently 340 000 units per annum. Better detail on the requirements and quantities for under sleeper pads will be provided in the pre-qualification documents.
Suppliers will be expected to work closely and in partnership with Network Rail.

Description of these options: In addition, to the 4 year contract period, Network Rail will retain the option to extend the contract by up to a further 4 years.
