UK SBS on behalf of the British Antarctic Survey (BAS) anticipates undertaking a procurement exercise for the Provision of VSAT Satellite Communications Systems (Space Segment) for BAS Stations, Ships and Cambridge HQ. The British Antarctic Survey (BAS) is a component part of the Natural Environment Research Council, and has, for the last 60 years, undertaken the majority of Britain’s scientific research on and around the Antarctic continent. Information and formalities necessary for evaluating if the requirements are met: All submissions will be assessed in accordance with the Public Contracts Regulations 2015, for procurement values that exceed Regulation 5 (Threshold amounts). This procurement will be managed electronically via the Crown Commercial Service’s e-Sourcing Suite. To participate in this procurement, participants shall 1st be registered on the e-Sourcing Suite.

Objective criteria for choosing the limited number of candidates: During the Selection stage, the intention is to arrive at a short-list of between 5 and 7 qualified Bidders will be considered for award stage evaluation. UK SBS at its discretion may only take forward sufficient Bidders as the intended minimum to maximum stated above. In those circumstances only the minimum to maximum number of qualified Bidders responses at award stage will be considered. To achieve this stated number of qualified Bidders, the selection questionnaires will be ranked.
