The target is delivered in a variety of ways and includes offering products which improve the efficiency of water used within homes, and gardens. These products are available to customers as a DIY fit or are installed during visits to homes to carry out our water efficiency water audit and retrofit programme.
In the last 5 years customers have saved around 16 Ml/d of water using a range of products which were both supplied and fitted by Anglian Water staff and additional products which customers could order free from us and install themselves. Further products such as gardening and educational products are also offered, in a range of different packs.
Anglian Water has an established group of core products which are offered to customers. This contract will encompass products which can be used to both save water, and promote behaviour change associated with using water, both in the home and garden.
Where products are required, to be branded with Anglian Water logos, and other personalised information, this will be highlighted within the specification document. One aim through this contract, is to further increase the range and number of products used, in order to meet our target of 16.58 Ml/d of water saved in the next 5 years, but also to ensure that an established number of core products are supplied to specification.
Products do not necessarily need to be used in the UK market currently but they must be fit for purpose, and be able to demonstrate achievable water savings. Additionally all products which are directly connected to a mains water supply must meet the required UK standards approval,(WRAS.) This approval will not be necessary prior to the commencement of this process but must be obtained before the products will be used by Anglian Water.
The contract will be divided into lots, broken down into specific product areas, lot details will be given with the specification documents when issued. Where current core products are indicated, product specifications will be provided during this stage of the process.
