The services for Carers are intended to provide easy access to short breaks for Carers and provide practical support in the home and community settings to enable the Carer to have a break from caring, support them in their caring role and maintain a life outside of caring.
Wirral Council and Wirral Clinical Commissioning Group have recently commissioned the following services in Phase 1 of the Carers Health and Wellbeing Service:
— Carers Practical Support and Carers Grants has been awarded to a consortium of Wired, as the lead organisation and the Agencies for Carers Executive (ACE).
— Daytime Activities and Day Care for People with Early On-set Dementia has been awarded to Age UK Wirral.
— Residential EMI Short Break Beds has been awarded to Age UK Wirral and Noren’s Ltd.
— Nursing Short Break Beds has been awarded to Hoylake Cottage Hospital

Services to be commissioned in Phase 2 of the Carers Health and Wellbeing Service.
Wirral Council and Wirral Clinical Commissioning Group are seeking one or two providers to deliver services under Phase 2 of the Carers Health and Wellbeing Service.
The services provided benefit the Carer by enabling a Carer to have a break from their caring role and to have a life outside of their caring role by providing the service to the cared for person:
Lot 1 Carers Support — Care at Home and Outreach
Lot 2 Residential Short Break Beds.
