II.1.5)Short description of the contract or purchase(s)
Although many of our healthcare leadership development programmes actively promote this change in leadership style, they are often focused on delivery at individual level. Therefore, individuals become equipped with these skills in silos often resulting in frustration at the inability to influence, make an impact upon and ultimately make a sustainable difference in practice to tackle systems problems.
Health Education West Midlands (HEWM) have identified a unique opportunity to create a Systems Leadership programme that uniquely takes a naturally collaborative group of leaders through a group systems leadership development programme with a focus on developing a solution to an existing group ‘systems challenge’, developing them as a cross-organisational, collaborative, sustainable team, whilst also developing them individually as systems leaders. Our ambition is that by developing the group to act as systems leaders in this way, they will flourish collaboratively in the future, therefore increasing the sustainability of their end solution and future confidence to act as systems leaders.
The initial contract will run from 1.12.2015 to 30.6.2016.
Upon successful review Health Education West Midlands will have the option to extend the contract up to 2 further years on a year by year basis.
