Anglian Water Services Ltd is the largest water and wastewater company in England and Wales, covering 27,500 squared kilometres. The Anglian Water region includes water and wastewater treatment works, reservoirs and network stretching from the Humber in the north to the Thames in the south, from Daventry in the west across to the east coast. Anglian Water also provides water services to the Hartlepool area as Hartlepool Water.
Anglian Water is under continuous pressure to drive down costs through innovation and more efficient ways of working so that cumulative benefits may be passed on to Anglian Waters customers. Against this background, it is crucial to maintain a strong customer focus, continuous improvement in the delivery of quality services and value for money. It requires the best performance from Anglian Water as well as its suppliers to maximise these benefits.

Information and formalities necessary for evaluating if the requirements are met: During the period of the contract the nominated audit team must remain completely independent from Anglian Water and agree not to be engaged by Anglian Water in consultancy studies or other service contracts associated in anyway with the preparation or regulatory submissions. Organisations that provide these additional services must provide assurance that the two streams of work are completely separate and confidential.

Information and formalities necessary for evaluating if the requirements are met: Anglian Water may require copies of audited accounts as part of the evaluation process. In addition to this, Anglian Water may seek further information over the duration of the contract period, (either directly from the supplier or via an externally recognised economic and financial information provider eg Dun & Bradstreet) as to the suppliers on going economic and financial capacity post award.

Information and formalities necessary for evaluating if the requirements are met: The technical auditor will be expected to provide evidence of the following. Experience of carrying out similar work. This could be gained, for example, by undertaking certification work for other regulators or local and central government departments and agencies, by gaining experience by previously performing the role of the Reporter of either a water and sewerage company, a water only company or by performing the reporting task in a team member capacity.
Professional qualifications and experience to carry out the role of technical assurance. The team should have a balance of technical, commercial and cost base development skills and experience. They should hold suitable qualifications and experience in the application to water and wastewater of financial and general business management disciplines. Senior members of the team are expected to have strong track records of technical consultancy in the water and wastewater industry covering consultancy in design, specification, costings, construction, installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance phases of projects.
A strong track record of delivery of outputs to specified time, quality and cost constraints, and strong personal skills required for working closely and effectively with professionals in other disciplines, such as financial auditors and members of regulatory teams within water companies.
