Kent County Council (the Council) is the largest local authority in England covering an area of 3,500 square kilometres. It has an annual expenditure of over £1bn on goods and services and a population of 1.3m. The Council provides a wide range of personal and strategic services on behalf of its residents, operating in partnership with 12 district councils and 289 parish/town councils.
The Council consists of four operational directorates (Education Learning & Skills, Families & Social Care, Customer & Communities and Enterprise & Environment) and one service directorate (Business Strategy and Support). This requirement is for Technical and Environmental Services within the Enterprise & Environment Directorate.
This is a contract(s) to supply a wide range of consultancy services to the Enterprise and Environment Directorate covering Transportation Engineering (including public transport); Highway Engineering (including maintenance, design, construction supervision, health and safety); and Environmental Support (including air quality, noise, landscaping, planning, regeneration, ecology and waste). The proposed contract spend by KCC will be approximately £5M per year for an initial period of up to 5 years, with possible extension(s) for a further 5 years.

Please note further details of the Council’s requirements will be provided in the Invitation to Tender which will be sent to the successful applicants following completion and assessment of this prequalification stage. The deadline date for Applicants to submit their PQQ’s is 5pm on the Wednesday 22nd August 2012 .
