Wrexham County Borough Council (the ‘Council’) is looking to establish a framework for the design, supply, installation, testing, registration and maintenance of ground mounted solar photovoltaic systems.
The first call off contract from the framework will be for a circa 3MW ground mounted solar photovoltaic development in the County Borough of Wrexham. A grid connection offer was received from the District Network Operator (DNO) on the 9.4.2014. A planning application for the development was submitted on the 11.4.2014. The appropriate capital funding mechanism for this scheme is in place.
Applicants must ensure that the first call off contract is delivered, commissioned and registered in advance of the 31.3.2015 to ensure that the maximum benefit from the Feed in Tariff scheme is achieved.
This framework will enable WCBC to develop identified land outside the boundaries of the County Borough of Wrexham. The Council sees the establishment of this framework as a significant opportunity to extend their experience of the solar PV sector and access the Government Feed in Tariffs (FITs) for solar PV installations of this type.
The Council expects to develop up to 6 potential sites that may be suitable for the installation of ground based solar PV systems. It should be noted that the Council provides no guarantee whatsoever that any of these potential sites will be taken forward as future projects.
NOTE: The authority is using eTenderwales to carry out this procurement process. Please note this is a separate website and if you are not already registered, registration will be required.
