Love Loch Lomond was established in November 2011 and brings tourism businesses and communities in the Loch Lomond and surrounding area together to collaborate on projects that enhance and promote the area to key market segments and develop the overall visitor experience of the area.

Love Loch Lomond is an industry-led Destination Organisation that operates in the Loch Lomond, Strathendrick, West Dunbartonshire and Clyde Sea Lochs areas. It is dedicated to working on a collaborative basis to capitalise on the area’s strong tourism potential. This is an exciting time for tourism in Loch Lomond and this post will play a key part in developing and delivering the Digital Communications Action Plan for Love Loch Lomond and is ideally suited for someone who has a demonstrable track record in the field of Digital Communications, ideally with a tourism sector background.

A new website was launched in February 2013 to promote the area to key market segments as well as to provide a communication and business to business platform for its members Love Loch Lomond is seeking to appoint a Digital Communications Manager, on a self- employed basis, to:

– Customer-facing Love Loch Lomond web portal development & delivery – new content research and creation; regular maintenance and updating of website and blog; revenue generation from sponsorship/advertising; awareness of search engine optimisation; increasing linkages/cross-referrals from other sites.

– Manage Google Analytics and regular monitoring and measurement of digital communications. Account management and liaison with the Love Loch Lomond digital agency. Provision of management reports.

– Social media proactive “buzz-building” on a daily basis, especially on Facebook and Twitter and development of business to business digital communications such as LinkedIn or as required.

– Love Loch Lomond business to business communications to members and wider business industry: development of relevant content for a business audience including blogs, video, sharing of communications with other agencies such as Glasgow Major Events, Destination Stirling, Tourism Intelligence Scotland and Argyll and Isles Tourism Partnership.

– Writing and planning of regular press releases, copy for e-newsletters and compilation of e-marketing campaigns for membership, trade and consumers, as agreed with the Love Loch Lomond Project Manager.

– Delivery of the Digital Communications Action Plan.

– Develop and deliver social media and web-related training workshops for membership.

This role is suited to someone:

– who is able to manage a variety of projects/tasks at once with little or no supervision

– who has a creative approach to using social media channels and online content to communicate with our relevant audiences

– who has experience and ability to communicate with a range of tourism stakeholders, from members, to visitors, tourism trade and suppliers/contractors

– who keeps on top of digital/mobile trends relevant to the business development of LLL

– with a flexible approach to working.

Period of Contract

The anticipated contract start date will be from 2 February 2015 to 31 March 2016 and is expected to deliver around 3 days per week.

Contract Criteria

The criteria for the award of the contract will be based on

1. Proposed price and overall value for money

2. Synergy between both parties as this will be an ongoing relationship and people skills are essential

3. Experience of having developed and delivered digital marketing campaigns and social media channel development is essential.

4. Proven experience of having managed and maintained website CMS systems and proficiency in Google Analytics and social media tools is essential.

5. Innovative thinking and attention to detail

6. Demonstration of an understanding of the business requirements

7. Experience in similar projects Training will be provided by website developers.

Cost and Experience

Consultants will be expected to work from their own office base. Consultants are asked to provide daily rates, experience and examples of similar work undertaken by the key personnel allocated to undertake this work. References must also be provided.

Tenderers are required to provide

Job Description: Digital Communications Manager

Work Location: At the discretion of Love Loch Lomond, though the location must have a reliable broadband connection and be a smartphone user

Working Hours: A highly flexible approach is essential – no set working hours, but an average of 3 days per week can be anticipated.

AIM: Supporting continued development of the Love Loch Lomond web portal and website www.lovelochlomond.com and digital marketing communications (including related social media channels and content curation); event development support; training content

development; fundraising support; B2B, trade and visitor communications.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

The key duties of the post are as follows:

– Customer-facing Love Loch Lomond web portal development & delivery – weekly new content research, creation & publication; regular maintenance/updating of website and blog; revenue generation from sponsorship/advertising; awareness of SEO; increasing linkages/cross-referrals from other sites. Research into mobile developments.

– Love Loch Lomond website: Managing Google Analytics and regular monitoring and measurement of digital communications, provision of regular statistical reports. Account management and liaison with the Love Loch Lomond digital agency provider on a regular basis regarding the Love Loch Lomond website.

– Social media proactive “buzz-building” on a daily basis, including Facebook and Twitter and other relevant channels as required. Development and maintenance of B2B digital communications such as LinkedIn or as required.

– Love Loch Lomond Ltd B2B communications to members and wider business industry: development of relevant online content for a business audience including blogs, video, sharing of communications with other agencies including Glasgow Major Events, Destination Stirling, Tourism Intelligence Scotland and Argyll and Isles Tourism Partnership.

– Writing and planning of regular press releases, copy for e-newsletters and compilation of e-marketing campaigns for membership, trade, and consumers, as agreed with the Love Loch Lomond Project Manager

– Develop and deliver social media and web-related training workshops for membership and be comfortable with presenting to the membership and board members.

– Other activities as and when required by the Manager or the Board of Directors.

Other working requirements

– A flexible approach to working hours is required – i.e. project deadlines and the nature of social media might necessitate some work outwith normal office hours

– Attendance and participation at membership/business networking events.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Experience of having developed and delivered successful digital marketing campaigns and social media channel development plus proven experience of having managed and maintained website CMS systems and proficiency in Google Analytics and social media tools is essential.

Knowledge and experience of mobile marketing desirable. Understanding and experience of working in the tourism sector, particularly with a destination, at manager level essential.

Experience of working with a membership organisation desirable. Good knowledge of the Loch Lomond area required. Strong communication, interpersonal and influencing skills.

Highly organised self-starter with a keen interest in digital technology and future technology trends with ability to work on own initiative and manage a range of projects and tasks without supervision. Experience of organising and delivering training/workshops desirable.
