Buses must be electric or plug in hybrid, low floor accessible buses with a zero emission drive train capability, along with associated charging infrastructure. Each vehicle must be certified as a Low Carbon Emissions Bus. Vehicles will be ordered in March 2015 approximately with vehicles to be delivered by 31.12.2015. No set number of vehicles are required but a technical solution will be required for 2 routes (Lots).

Electric Buses and associated charging equipment will be used on two NCC Services: Lot 1 — CityLink2, which operates from the Colwick Racecourse Park and Ride site direct to the City, via Victoria Retail Park; and Lot 2 the Centrelink Service, which will be extended to encompass the Queen’s Drive Park and Ride Site. Tenderers can bid for either or both Lots. The council is not defining exact number of vehicles for these routes but seeking a technical solution for each Lot. Contract length will be 12 months with a minimum 5 year warranty.

Daily distance is 250 k. Solution must include 2 spare vehicles, 1 to be on operational standby, 1 to provide cover for fleet maintenance. A minimum 5 year warranty is required. Vehicles must be electric or plug-in hybrid, low floor accessible buses, with a zero emission drive train capability, along with associated charging infrastructure.

1)Short description

This Service will be extended to encompass the Queen’s Drive Park and Ride Site.
A total daily mileage capability of 280 km should be assumed.
Again we require a technical solution to ensure sufficient vehicles and charging equipment for this route, which must include 2 spare vehicles, 1 to be on operational standby and 1 to provide cover for fleet maintenance. The vehicles must be electric or plug in hybrid, low floor accessible buses, with a zero emission drive train capability, along with associated charging infrastructure. We also require a minimum 5 year warranty.
