Community Benefits apply to this contract, Further details:
Swansea University, in partnership with the City & County of Swansea is engaged in phase 1 of a mixed-use heritage-led regeneration project which, in addition to attracting heritage tourists as visitors, can significantly contribute to the well-being, prosperity and sense of place of Swansea residents. It will do this by creating a destination which the community can be proud of, and which can tell that community’s story through the eyes of people who lived and worked in the copper works. One important element of the project therefore will be the development of volunteering opportunities for the community and local schools. Swansea City Council has developed an initiative, “Beyond Bricks and Mortar”, as a means of tackling poverty and promoting inclusion. It has been developed to create an impact on deprivation by addressing the need for more training and job placement opportunities for the economically inactive leading to longer term sustainable jobs. This contract will require you to provide training and/or work experience opportunities, which will be primarily aimed at the unemployed and economically inactive. By working together with training organisations, job placement agencies, groups representing disabled people, people from ethnic minorities and many others, Beyond Bricks and Mortar will reach those that find gaining employment and training hardest.
