Essential Fabric Repairs and Heritage Facelift Scheme comprising of:
Proposed Conservation masonry repairs, timber window and door repairs, new cast iron rainwater goods, re-roofing, minor demolition and internal renovation.
You are invited to submit a tender for the above conservation repair works in accordance with the enclosed Form of Tender, Preliminaries, Building Specification, Reference Specification and Tender Drawings.
Tenders are being invited in accordance with the principles of the Construction Industry Board ‘Code of Practice for the Selection of Main Contractors’. Errors in the priced Schedules of Work will be dealt with in accordance with the Construction Industry Board ‘Code of Practice for the Selection of Main Contractors’ paragraph 4.7. The overall price will be the dominant factor if there are arithmetical errors in the tender. Tenderer’s are also advised that our client reserves the right to negotiate savings with more than one tenderer and the sequence set out in this document will not necessarily apply.
As part of the tender submission the Contractor is to allow the Architect to assess the existing Building Condition and identify full scope of works in relation to items of work listed in the Building Specification, produce details & specifications for full approval by the Local Authority Conservation Officers & ERDF grant officer. Their services are also to include the inspection and certification of works on site.
Please Note: Specifications and quantities for items of work listed in Building Specification is for guidance only.
Your contract will be in accordance with JCT Minor Works Building Contract with Contractor’s Design 2011 is to be on a fixed price lump sum ‘Design and Build’ basis and returned in a sealed envelope to Architect Solutions, 55 George Street, Newcastle under Lyme ST5 1JU in a sealed envelope clearly marked ‘Tender for Swan Square’. Please ensure your sealed envelope is not identifiable with your company together with:
1. A signed Form of Tender inclusive of the breakdown requested.
Should be requested to do so you will be required to deliver to us within 5 days of the requeste 1 fully priced up specification. 1 further copy of the specification will be provided free of charge for this purpose.
Tender prices are to be returned on or before Friday 12.9.2014, 16:00. Tenders should be kept open for acceptance for a period of 2 calendar months.
Electronic submission of your tender price will also be accepted provided that the original signed Form of Tender is received within 3 days of the date for return of tender
Please note that unless the tender period has been extended our client will not consider tenders that arrive late and that tender figures cannot be accepted over the telephone.
The client does not bind himself to accept the lowest or any tender.

Information and formalities necessary for evaluating if the requirements are met: (1) All candidates will be required to produce a certificate or declaration demonstrating that they are not bankrupt or the subject of an administration order, are not being wound-up, have not granted a trust deed, are not the subject of a petition presented for sequestration of their estate, have not had a receiver, manager or administrator appointed and are not otherwise apparently insolvent.
