The University currently has approximately 3000 bedrooms in the halls of residence plus associated communal living areas across Manchester (2000) and Crewe (1000) split into 3 campuses:
— All Saints.
— Birley.
— Crewe.
The Halls of Residence Deep Clean contract is currently procured via the NWUPC framework and has historically been renewed on an annual basis. The existing contract consists of an annual deep clean and a conference changeover clean.
As part of the ongoing commercial activities, the University wishes to undertake a tender exercise for the provision of an annual Deep Clean Service to the Halls of Residence for study rooms, kitchens/lounges, shared shower and toilet facilities plus en-suite bathrooms. The University is looking to appoint contractors who are able to demonstrate an innovative approach to the cleaning requirements in order to achieve an efficient and cost effective service.
The new contract for the Halls of Residence Deep Clean 2016 will include:
1. Deep Cleaning.
2. Conference/Summer Let Changeover Clean (as and when required).
3. Light Clean Storage Cupboard in Cambridge Halls of Residence.
4. Carpet Cleaning (as and when required).

The University has a portfolio of buildings in central Manchester and Crewe (Cheshire) with 3 main areas of halls of residence developments:
— All Saints.
— Birley.
— Crewe.
The Birley campus consists of new build accommodation, which opened in 2014 with new style town houses and traditional student flats with multiple study rooms plus a small number of en-suite rooms. The All Saints campus in the centre of Manchester has two different styles of residential accommodation (town house and cluster flats), with traditional style halls located above teaching areas in the Cavendish South Building. Cambridge Halls on the Manchester (All Saints) campus are a modern build located next to the new Business school at the heart of the campus.
The Crewe Campus has two sets of residential accommodation, three traditional residential blocks based on the Crewe campus and a modern build located within walking distance to the main campus with over 800 ensuite rooms.

The standards detailed in the Cleaning Specification has been designed as part of the ongoing improvement drive for award winning student accommodation.
The successful Contractor is required to clean the buildings, following the agreed work schedule, which will be signed off with the Daily Contract Manger on site. All cleaning completed by the Contractor will be measured against the standards detailed in the cleaning specification document.
Students vacate the Halls of Residence from mid — June and return mid-September (exacts dates will be confirmed before the start of each academic year).
The Contractor will need to be aware of the University’s academic timetable to ensure cleaning takes place at the appropriate time. Contractors will also be required to make themselves aware of the University buildings and locations.
Planned Objectives for New Contract.
The new contract for the Halls of Residence Deep Clean will include:
1.Deep Clean which includes study rooms, kitchens/lounges, shared shower and toilet facilities plus en-suite bathrooms, corridors in the cluster flats and the stair and landings in the town houses.
2.Summer Let Deep Clean which includes all areas above on a same day clean turn around.
3.Conference and Events Changeover Clean (as and when required) which includes the above areas, removal of rubbish and a change of bedding and towels.
4.Light Clean Storage Cupboard in Cambridge Halls of Residence (1 in every flat).
5.Carpet Cleaning (as and when required).
The Contract will be split into 3 lots:

— Lot 3 Cheshire Student Living 799 rooms
*Please note the bedrooms listed above are not the only area of the halls of residence to be cleaned as part of the Halls of Residence Deep Clean Contract.
