At the contract start date of October/November 2016, it is thought that the sum available for investment will be in the region of 125 000 000 GBP.

Tenders are invited for a contract to commence October/November 2016 for an initial period of three years The University at its discretion may wish to extend the contract incrementally for up to a maximum of 7 years following the initial 3-year contract period. However, if the funds decline to zero during this period or subsequent extension periods then remaining extensions will not be offered.

Cardiff University will incorporate a standstill period at the point information on the award of the contract is communicated to tenderers. That notification will provide full information on the award decision. The standstill period, which will be for a minimum of 10 calendar days,provides time for unsuccessful tenderers to clarify or query the award decision before the contract is entered into.
