The Council has identified that its legal requirements fall under 5 main areas of expertise and wishes to appoint firms of solicitors to provide advice in the following areas of law:
1. Planning,
2. Land and Property,
3. Employment,
4. Enforcement,
5. Legislative and Procurement.
The Council requires tenderers to provide legal advice in each area of law at a senior level, therefore tenderers are required to nominate staff who have a minimum of 5 years post qualified experience.
The Contract will initially be awarded for a period of 1 year (from the commencement date stated in the confirmation of award letter) with an option to extend for a further 2 x 12 month periods, to be reviewed annually.

VI.4.2)Lodging of appeals

Precise information on deadline(s) for lodging appeals: Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon District Council in accordance with Regulations 86 and 87 of the Public Contract Regulations 2015, will incorporate a minimum 10 calendar day standstill period starting from the day when intention to award is notified to bidders. Unsuccessful bidders will be provided with a debrief in the Intention to Award decision notice at the start of the standstill period including details of their bid in relation to the winning bidder (s) comprising the reasons for the decision, the characteristics and relative advantages of the successful tender (s), the score of the economic operator (s) and the name (s) of the economic operator/s to be awarded the contract. If a dispute about the contract award has not been successfully resolved the Public Contracts Regulations 2015, enables aggrieved parties who have been harmed or are at risk of harm by a breach of the rules to take action in the High Court. Any such action must be brought promptly. The purpose of the standstill referred to above is to allow parties to apply to the Courts to set aside the award decision before the contract is entered into.
