Description of the goods or services required

The project covers approximately 250-300 Falkirk Council properties throughout the Council area including schools, care homes, community centres, industrial units, depots and offices. Some of the properties are operated and managed by the housing division within the council, consequently there will be a separate contract administrator for the housing and non-housing properties.

The requirement of this contract is to carry out annual Portable Appliance Testing and Inspection of electrical appliances together with all appliance labelling, updating and maintaining all property inventories mainly within the councils operational (non-housing) buildings but will include some housing properties with central services.

The works will include elements of minor repairs to fuses, plugs, cables, etc where economically viable and will all be expected to be carried out in compliance with the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 together with all relevant legislation, British Standards, HSE guidance, relevant electrical standards, codes of procedure/practise, etc.
