Description of the goods or services required

Fife Council’s Social Work Directorate requires a provider to facilitate training on the provision of services in line with guidance issued by the Scottish Government on SDS (Self-Directed Support) and the relevant pathways. The training shall be targeted at individuals with direct involvement in moving forward the SDS agenda and shall be provided in the form of “workshops”.

Self-directed support presents an opportunity to make a radical shift in approach across social care provision. It aims to support, promote and protect the human rights of care and support users in Scotland and helps people to achieve independent living. It aims to ensure that care and support is delivered in a way that promotes flexibility, choice and control over one’s own life and which promotes and respects a person’s right to participate in society.

The objective of this procurement exercise is to select a service partner with whom Fife Council can develop and deliver a suitable training strategy to assist with the implementation of the SDS agenda.
