Description of the goods or services required

Glasgow City Council requires continuing and completing an inventory of its arboricultural tree stock within four defined pilot survey areas and is commissioning the survey and data capture of associated tree information.

The pilot areas are as follows;

– Cathkin

– Kelvin walkway

– Pollok Country Park

– Shettleston

In addition to the survey element there is a requirement to deliver training and supported survey for Glasgow City Council arboricultural staff.

Please refer to section 4 for Scope of Requirements for further details of the commission outcomes.

The council has been successful in securing Central Scotland Green Network (CSGN) funding to deliver this commission. It is a requirement of this funding that all of the outcomes be completed and be claimed by the council by March 2013.

Therefore the period of this commission will be September 2012 to March 2013.

Byway of background the council commissioned in 2011, with CSGN support, a 1st phase of survey work within the pilot areas.

Within the resources available this 1st phase delivered the survey of all trees with the highways & streets and school grounds categories.

With this Phase 2 commission the council seeking to complete the survey within the following pilot areas categories;

– Cemetery & crematoria ground

– Openspace

– Parks

– Other
