II.2.1)Total quantity or scope:

UK Trade and Investment have a need for a multidisciplinary integrated design team to deliver comprehensive design services for the UK Pavilion at the Astana Expo 2017 in Kazakhstan. The Pavilion shall be constructed within an existing building and will comprise visitor experience and supporting accommodation and facilities. The main scope of Services comprises provision of the Developed Design, including 2D/3D, AV, interactive and graphic design including all necessary aspects of architectural, structural and services engineering (mechanical, electrical, plumbing). The appointed team will act as the Employer’s Design Team and develop the design sufficiently for the procurement of a Design and Build Contractor. The preliminary pavilion budget is a total of 2 000 000 GBP which includes design fees but excludes contingency and VAT.

Description of these options: The Contract duration shall be for a period of 18 months from commencement of the Contract.
The main scope of work shall be for Concept and Developed Design as detailed in the Scope document. The Scope makes provision for optional for additional services. Additional services means any design services necessary for the Project beyond the Developed Design that may be instructed by the Employer’s Agent at the Employer’s absolute discretion and sole option. Any additional services shall be congruent with achieving a progressively elaborated design and potential legacy advice associated with Astana Expo 2017 (as opposed to new design work) and any such additional services shall be priced using rates provided for the main Scope.

Description of particular conditions: The form of contract used shall be NEC3 Professional Services Contract (2013 Version) with Option X10 invoked.
