Description of the contract

NHS IQ’s existing web presence centres around an Umbraco platform website www.NHSIQ.nhs.uk. It was put in place in July 2013 to serve as an immediate online presence for our users while work on a Discovery phase to fully understand our user’s needs took place. In addition there are some inherited online platforms which house features requiring functionality the Umbraco platform cannot provide. This includes tools, a shop functionality and restricted areas on the legacy body website www.institute.nhs.uk and content on the Change Model website www.ChangeModel.nhs.uk. As such, the web presence of NHS IQ is fragmented and needs to be consolidated. A new website will need to hold static and dynamic content, discussion forums, forms, tools, images, videos and audio recordings and an online catalogue and shop function. It will need to integrate with our CRM system (MyCRM provided by Microsoft Dynamics), and our document repository system (Alfresco). It will need to link with a number of other websites including e-learning websites, the Better Care, Better Values website and PRIMIS’s website. The aim is that our own NHS IQ staff will be able to update, create and manage the majority of the content on the website only calling on the expertise of the supplier(s) when work is beyond their own capabilities e.g. for updates to tools. The website therefore needs to have WYSIWYG back end pages and be simple to navigate and update, and the supplier(s) will need to provide training to the NHS IQ staff. In addition, the website and development process will need to comply with all Digital by Default Service Standards.
