Description of the contract

As testing products on the GOV.UK site is not always possible, the Usability and Insight team at Government Digital Service (GDS) has used online panels in order to ensure that the testing is conducted using a robust sample. Therefore, the purpose of this brief is to seek proposals that will enable GDS to conduct multiple rounds (up to five) of remote usability testing via an online panel. GDS therefore wishes to appoint a successful supplier who can provide a sample of participants to take part in remote user testing of the GDS products and services. This will enable GDS to identify and remedy any usability issues that users may encounter when using the products/services. GDS would like to conduct 5 separate rounds of testing, with each round likely to need to involve 500 participants. Please note that this Contract is for an initial 6 Months however it is possible for this Contract to be extended for an additional 6 Months. This extension is at the sole discretion of the Authority and there is no guarantee of it being applied.

How to apply

To participate in this procurement, Potential Providers must first be registered on the Government Procurement Service e-Sourcing Suite. If you have not yet registered on the eSourcing Suite, this can be done online at by following the link ‘Register for GPS eSourcing’. Please note that, to register, you must have a valid DUNS number (as provided by Dun and Bradstreet) for the organisation which you are registering, who will be entering into a contract if invited to do so at the Invitation to Tender stage. This is done by emailing Your email must clearly state: • the name of this procurement ( Remote User Testing Sample Contract) and the RM reference number (RM1157-SB); • the name of the registered supplier; and • the name and contact details for the registered individual sending the email. Government Procurement Service will then process this email and assign your organisation to the opportunity. The registered user will receive a notification email to alert them once this has been done. If the registered user does not receive this notification email within 24 hours you must contact the eSourcing Suite Helpdesk on 0345 010 3603 to raise this and to ensure your expression of interest has been received. The Invitation to Tender will be issued on Tuesday, 18 December 2012 and therefore suppliers can register on the eSourcing Suite between the issue date of this Contracts Finder advert and the above deadline date.
