Narec is procuring works concession contracts in relation an innovative offshore wind technology demonstrator project at Blyth, off the coast of Northumberland, UK. The project, for which an offshore permit has been applied, comprises a windfarm with 15 consented “pods”, organised in three arrays at different water depths. Successful tenderers will deploy novel offshore wind generator systems to a combined project maximum of 100MW installed capacity. The opportunity is being advertised in three lots, each lot comprising one array of 5 pods. It is Narec’s preference to award a works concessions contract in respect of each array to a different economic operator, but entities will be able to apply for more that one lot if they wish to do so.

Narec reserves the right to change without notice the procedure for awarding the contract, to reject all or any bids for the contract, to terminate the process and not to award a contract at any time without any liability on its part. No contract will be created between Narec and any party until a contract is executed between Narec and the winning bidders.
In the event of consortium bidders, Narec reserves the right to require groupings of entities to take a particular form, or to require one party to undertake primary legal liability for each array or to require that each party undertakes joint and several liability for each array.
Tenders and all supporting documentation for the contract must be in English and must be priced in Sterling.
Narec is not liable for any costs (including any third party costs fees or expenses) incurred by those expressing an interest in, negotiating or tendering for this contract opportunity.
Any agreement entered into will be governed by English law and will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts.
The offshore wind farm concession contract opportunity has been divided into three lots, each lot being one array of up to 35MW, each array comprising 5 pods.
