The research services are required in the context of resource efficiency/circular economy/sustainable consumption, and behaviour change theory.
1. Lot 1 will provide surveying, research and evaluation relating to individuals and households,
2. Lot 2 will relate to businesses and organisations,
3. Lot 3 will provide household and business waste composition analysis of collected recyclables and residual waste.

— qualitative and quantitative;
— mixed methods to improve the project outcomes;

Lot No: 3 Lot title: Waste composition analysis

1)Short description

The purpose of this Lot is to provide household and business waste composition analysis (of collected recyclables and residual waste) to:
— support WRAP with the delivery of its work;
— inform its approach for working with stakeholders; and
— inform and support improvements in collection services and waste processing infrastructure; and
— provide an evidence base to support development of waste and recycling policy and strategy.
The services required include:
— collecting and analysing waste, and appropriately disposing of the waste after analysis;
— identifying recyclable materials remaining in the residual waste stream;
— identifying contamination levels in recyclable materials;
— calculating capture rates for targeted recyclable materials; and
— correlating arisings of waste and recyclable materials with attitudes and behaviours.

The contracting authority considers that this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are small or medium enterprises (SMEs).
