Kent County Council (the council) is the largest county council in England covering an area of 3 500 km². It has an annual expenditure of over 900 000 000 GBP on goods and services and a population of 1 300 000. The Council provides a wide range of personal and strategic services on behalf of its residents, operating in partnership with 12 district council’s seven clinical commissioning groups and 289 parish/town councils.
Kent County Council (KCC) will be inviting tenders for a contract to train young people to be Youth Health Champions to be confident peer educators and leaders on youth health topics. This will be conducted as a mini-competition through the Public Health Dynamic Purchasing System.
The contract will run from 1.9.2015-31.3.2016. The maximum contract value is 12 545 GBP.
The contractor will be required to:
— Design, in collaboration with the HeadStart Kent Senior Project Officer, and deliver a training programme appropriate for young people aged 14-19 at mainstream school to become confident peer educators
— Design and deliver a differentiated training programme in collaboration with a special school, practitioners, parents and young people that is accessible for them to become peer educators
— Train Youth Health Champions (young people) from each of 11 mainstream secondary schools across Kent (schools are already identified), two community groups and one special school which have already been identified by HeadStart Kent.
— Develop and provide each YHC with a reference booklet to help them plan peer health campaigns and messages based on the training provided ‘A Youth Health Champions Essential Guide’.
Expression of Interest and Tender Process
In relation to Kent County Council’s Public Health DPS notice number: 323771-2014 the Council has up a Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) for Public Health Services to allow the Council to buy Public Health Services from a list of approved providers who meet a certain minimum standards and agree to a common set of contractual terms Approved providers will then be able to bid for the Council’s contracts to deliver Public Health Services.
Should you wish to tender for this opportunity, you must apply to be part of the Public Health Services DPS, applications to be included in this tender opportunity must be submitted to the DPS no later than 13.8.2015. When expressing an interest in the opportunity, you will then be emailed an invitation to submit a Questionnaire to be added to the DPS.
If you have already been successfully admitted to the Public Health Services DPS, you will automatically be sent a copy of the tender documentation when published after the 14.8.2015. You will then be emailed an invitation to submit a Questionnaire to be added to the DPS. Further guidance regarding how to use this portal can be found attached to the bottom of this advert.
