How to apply

The contracting authority considers that this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are small or medium enterprises (SMEs). However, any selection of tenderers will be based solely on the criteria set out for the procurement, and the contract will be awarded on the basis of the most economically advantageous tender.The Service The intended service provision is to offer provision for up to 8 beds across two houses, comprising of 2 block purchased beds and up to 6 spot purchased beds for children and young people . The contract will run from 1st August, 2013 to 31st July, 2016 with an option to extend for up to two years.. The successful provider will be expected to provide: • A homely environment for Children in Care • Positive Outcomes the Children in Care • Care for up to 8 children and young people aged 11 to 18 years Premises and Maintenance arrangements The Houses available for delivery of this service are part of the Council’s estate developed as a PFI project. Care homes have operated on the site for a number of years and are situated in the North of the Borough. Each Property is well specified and comprises of 5 bedrooms with en suite bathrooms, living areas and office space. Four beds for the use of children/young people and one bedroom for sleep in staff. The maintenance of the properties and the site is undertaken by an external Provider who holds a contract with the Council Collaboration during Transition The exiting provider has indicated their willingness to work alongside the Council, and staff to ensure continuity of service provision. Any incoming provider would likewise be expected to work with the Council to ensure a seamless handover which does not adversely affect service provision. Providers who are interested will be required to submit their tender and will be subject to the Council’s assessment and evaluation process. The award criteria used for assessing tenders are detailed in the Invitation to Tender Pack. The Council is seeking to conclude a new contract with a possible implementation period, with the service provision to commence from 1st August 2013.
