Description of the contract

The Drug and Alcohol Joint Commissioning Team have established an Innovation Fund to offer opportunities for the development of innovative schemes which will support the overall goal of Recovery and Re-integration for Adult Drug & Alcohol Users, their Carers or Families and thereby meet the outcomes of national and local strategy in Hertfordshire. The Innovation Fund is designed to support innovative projects delivered by any sector (for example school, community group, faith groups, voluntary sector or statutory agency). Bids are welcomed from groups who are working together in their communities to provide support people to help them overcome barriers and improve their lives. The overall ambition of this new Innovation Fund is to achieve improved health and wellbeing for our communities. Applicants will need to demonstrate an understanding of the complexity of problems experienced by Adult Drug and Alcohol Users and the impact this can have on their Carers/Families and local communities.

How to apply

The contracting authority considers that this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are small or medium enterprises (SMEs).However, any selection of tenderers will be based solely on the criteria set out for the procurement,and the contract will be awarded on the basis of the most economically advantageous tender. Initially this funding will be for August 2012 – July 2013, however if the project meets both the objectives of the project and the outcomes required by the wider partnership, these projects may be used to influence future commissioning decisions. The total value of the fund is in the region of £300,000 To ensure a wide range of provision across providers, organisations can put in one bid to either of the following: • up to £10,000 or • between £10,001 and £75,000 Organisations are restricted to one application only. The funding cannot be used for Capital Costs/projects Any money awarded via the Innovation Fund must be spent wholly on the project outlined in an organisation’s tender bid.
