The service will provide advocacy, mentoring and independent visitors for children looked after and those in need, including care leavers and disabled children, up to the age of 21, who meet the eligibility criteria on behalf of North Somerset Council.
To ensure that all children and young people have access to a service which allows their voice to be heard and enables them to contribute to the decision making process that affects their lives.
To ensure that children and young people are supported in the transition to independence with increased skills and confidence.
To ensure that all children and young people have support and advice to achieve their aspirations, develop social, personal and emotional skills, enjoy new experiences and develop wider friendships.
To ensure that children and young people are informed of their rights and supported to access services, information and advice.
To offer independent workers/volunteers who can befriend and give confidential support, advice, mentoring and representation to the children and young people who require this service.
Support for those with mental health issues, disabilities, challenging behaviour and those who have difficulty in expressing their wishes and feelings about any decisions being made about them.
To represent and support any child or young person who wants to make a complaint or have their voice heard in relation to the quality of care and support provided by the local authority.
