Description of the contract

This contract is a key driver in delivering the overall goals of the Environment Agency. This training will actively work towards reducing climate change and its consequences, Protect and improve water land and air work with people and communities to have better places, work with business and others to use resources wisely. The requirement is to provide Foundation Agriculture training and models for NPS (National Permitting Staff) and the regulatory teams for land and water based officers. If we do not deliver this training we are at risk of not delivering our water framework directive responsibilities or work towards reducing pollution. This training is key to the success of meeting our agriculture sector plan and fulfiing our recommendations of our farming regulation or the Farming Task force reports (McDonald report). The requirement of the new framework involves developing the existing EA owned materials between our in house expertise working with the supplier to refresh course content for delivery, development includes changes to regulations and best practice. The successful supplier will then be ultimately responsible for sourcing on a national basis venues, trainers and the co-ordination required to deliver. The supplier will deliver the training. Whilst this requirement is specific to the regulatory requirements of the EA, in the spirit of collaboration it will be made available to SEPA, NIEA and NRW and Defra/subsidiaries’.
