Tenders are invited from suitably qualified providers for the provision of Alterations to Newport Fire Station. The contract is to run from 8th May 2012 to 7th August 2012 inclusive and the premises will be fully operational at all times.
The proposed works at Newport Fire Station include the stripping out and refurbishment of the first floor of the main station building, some areas of the ground floor and the first floor of the rear building (formally Fire Service control area), including; removing existing and providing new internal partitions, removing existing and providing new suspended ceiling, renewing floor coverings, decoration, lighting, heating alterations, renewing and repairing some windows, renewing all roof light, renewing all toilet provisions and other general external maintenance. In addition to this there will be minor improvement to the main station frontage including improved signage, line painting and better demarcation of the front entrance. We are seeking to appoint a main contractor to oversee the whole works package.
The Freedom of Information Act (FOI) 2000 which came into force on 01.01.2005 applies to the contracting authority. If any Tenderer considers that any information supplied by them is either commercially sensitive or confidential in nature, this should be highlighted and the reasons for its sensitivity specified. In such cases the relevant material will, in response to FOI requests, be examined in light of exemptions provided for in this act.
If you do not get a response within 24 hours of initially requesting the documentation, it is the tenderers responsibility to re contact the Isle of Wight Council to obtain the documents.
The Isle of Wight Council reserves the right not to make any award and reserves the right to accept all or part of the tender.
