Our University is considering the following solutions: hosted (Platform as a Service), on-site (managed service) and on-site (non-managed) only.
The VLE is a core system used in teaching, learning and assessment in the University and is central to the ‘student’ experience. This will include: ‘students’ across our provision: on Campus, by Core Domestic Partners, International Partners, Continuing Professional Development (CPD) ‘students’, Work-based and Distance Learning staff and ‘students’. Anglia Ruskin University is seeking bids for a new VLE that will be central to the emerging Digital Strategy at Anglia Ruskin University.
Anglia Ruskin University delivers multiple types of learning all requiring a VLE. These are defined below:
1. A module is a credit-bearing learning unit available in a range of credit sizes.
2. A course is a group of modules leading to a named award (e.g. Degree or Cert HE).
3. CPD / bespoke course / modules are blocks of discrete learning. These may or may not carry credit.
Some courses are run 100 % taught and some in varying amounts, on-line.
The contract will be for an initial 36 months with the option to extend for a further 2 x 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance.
