Description of the contract

Westminster City Council seeks expressions of interest from suitably experienced organisations for the provision of an Animal Wardens Service contract. Service delivery will fulfil the Council’s statutory obligations under the Environmental Protection Act and the Clean Neighbourhood and Environment Act. Service delivery will include the activities listed below: • Patrolling • Out of Hours Service • Kennelling • Reporting and Data Management The contract is likely to be a 3 year contract with an option to extend for a further year. The contract will start on or around the 19 July 2012. Prices will be sought for different areas of service. Westminster City Council will use the entire contract. The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea and the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham intend to procure elements of the service. As the three “principal” boroughs bring together their management functions, the direction of travel is to combine service provision and service management across the three Councils. Animal Wardens Services is a joint procurement involving the three Councils. In this particular instance, the contract is being tendered by Westminster City Council.
