To provide professional advice and recommendations to the Council, to ensure ongoing compliance to current and amended asbestos legislation and guidance.
To provide a 24/7 manned helpdesk to give advice and assistance to Housing Services staff and approved contractors, regarding asbestos in our properties.
In case of emergency asbestos release and as directed by the Council to attend site and assess the situation, instructing as relevant the contractors to make safe an area where appropriate to arrange necessary testing, clearance, encapsulation, removal or other works to minimise any risks
Assisting and advising the Council in the development of an Action Plan to include a planned asbestos survey programme, developing works programmes for remedial and removal works and a training programme
Assisting in the undertaking of an annual audit of the Councils Asbestos Management Policy, plan and register in conjunction with the Council to review and implement.
Undertaking asbestos management and demolition surveys as requested by the Council.
To provide asbestos awareness training to Council staff and Contractors appointed by Wealden District Council.
To appoint a qualified analytical contractor to carry out analytical works and inspections as agreed with the Council.
