Description of the contract
West Berkshire Council previously advertised on 14 November 2012 and consequently established an Approved Provider List (APL) for Community Home Care services for adults either delivered to people in their home or accompanying people to other locations as specified in the individual’s Care Plan. As part of the original advertisement, it was stated that this APL was an ‘open’ listing, meaning that new Service Providers would have the opportunity to apply to join the APL at 6 monthly intervals through this Portal. In addition, during these intervals, providers who already sit on the APL would be allowed the opportunity to review their current fixed pricing in order to offer competitive pricing. This is the first of the six-monthly interval opportunities for both existing APL providers and new providers wishing to maintain or apply to be listed on the Approved Provider List (APL).
The full scope of the required care is defined in the Care Plan but may include the following elements:
– Domiciliary/Home care
– Personal care
– Live in care

Community Home Care services will be commissioned only from West Berkshire Council’s Approved Provider List. The service will be required every day of the year including Bank and Public Holidays (which will be deemed as a normal working day).
