RMBC is re- opening the Approved List of support and care providers for Adults with Mental Health issues and is inviting organisations to apply to be included.

It is anticipated that the list will be used:-

·        To allocate new business for mental health services where RMBC is commissioning the work. (We reserve the right to tender work outside the list if needed)

·        To allocate business where people have chosen to have a Managed Budget

·        To arrange emergency placements

·        To deliver current business

·        To communicate a list of providers to clients choosing a Cash Budget, for them to use if they choose.

The Approved List of Providers will provide details of services that can be offered by providers together with costs. This will be made available to service users, carers, commissioners and other interested parties when using personal budgets, deciding on placements and setting up care packages.

Once compiled, the Approved List held by RMBC will be regularly updated, making it comprehensive and current at all times. New applications to join the list will be possible when the list is open and we aim to keep it open at most times. The accreditation of any new submissions will take place as applications are received.

The Approved List of Care and Support providers for Adults with Mental Health issues will assist RMBC in meeting the personalisation agenda by offering a wider choice to our service users, having transparency of costs and meeting diverse needs. Applications are hence sought from providers with ability and experience in providing care and support to adults with Mental Health issues through a range of approaches.

The services include

Community and Universal Services – Low level support services to encourage independence and wellbeing. These could include Generic Advocacy services, support with training, volunteering and employment, inclusion, advice and information, user led provision, social networking, early prevention services

Front Door Services and Enablement – Short Term services such as assessment, crisis intervention and emergency provision, respite and re-enablement provision

On-going Support – including services such as Supported Living, Homecare and Outreach support, Residential and Nursing provision and services for clients with more specific needs, for example, Forensic Services and people with Substance  Misuse related mental health issues

Further information can be obtained by expressing your interest in this project and downloading the documents published on the Chest. Information on how to do this is contained in the document below ‘Finding the Documents’

Bidders please also note the following:

The application process for the Mental Health Approved Provider List covers a wide range of potential services and organisation types and we appreciate that not all organisations will have, or require, the various documents listed as being required.

If your organisation does not have all these documents or the levels of insurance requested, due to its size or the nature of the service it provides,

we recommend that you complete the application form in as much detail as possible, showing which documents you do have and the levels and types of insurance cover you carry.

We will then make a judgement as to whether or not you can be accepted onto the list on the basis of the documentation and insurance you have in place.

If we feel that additional policies, procedures or insurance cover are necessary we will work with you to help get these in place.
