Leicester City Council (LCC) requires the provision of an independent Archaeological Contractor to carry out archaeological monitoring or “Watching Brief” during the construction works for the Jubilee Square Project. The service is required as part of Condition 5 of the Planning Consent given to the project.

Description

Leicester City Council (LCC) requires the provision of an independent Archaeological Contractor to carry out archaeological monitoring or “Watching Brief” during the construction works for the Jubilee Square Project. The service is required as part of Condition 5 of the Planning Consent given to the project.

Scope of Works

The Archaeological Contractor shall be required to:
1. Provide a draft Written Scheme of Investigation (WSI) at tender stage and, if appointed, develop and agree the WSI with the City Archaeologist prior to starting work on site.
2. Attend the Principal Contractor’s Health and Safety Induction and comply with the Principal Contractor’s Health & Safety Site Rules.
3. Monitor the construction works as appropriate and fully record any findings in accordance with the requirements of the developed WSI and the BAWB.
4. Present the results of the Watching Brief in accordance with the developed WSI and Section 6 of the BAWB.

Bidders are required to fully complete this RFQ form to ensure compliance with the procurement exercise, failure to do so may result in your bid being rejected.

Responses will be assessed on a criterion which includes Quality and Price. Detail of which are provided within the RFQ document.

This should be returned by 12:00 noon on 10/09/2013 at the very latest.
