Under the traditional approach the design team will be appointed by the University to carry out the whole of the services described in the attached duties (please refer to Schedule A: draft Specification for the full Scope of Works covered by this Framework); under the design and build approach the design team will be appointed by the University up to completion of the Stage 2 Design and following the appointment of the works contractor, the designers will be novated to the contractor to complete the design and carry out the construction stage and post-construction stage duties.
The Architect/Lead Consultant may also be required to provide other Estates related Architectural/Lead Consultant Services, outside the framework of a formal construction project, such as inputting to estates strategies or funding bids.
This tender is being conducted via the Restricted procedure, incorporating a Pre-Qualification stage, from which a shortlist of up to 6 suppliers will be Invited To Tender. On evaluation of tender submissions, the intention of the University is to award the 4-year Framework Agreement to 3 unranked suppliers, to whom call-off contracts will be awarded on a mini-tender basis.
