Bury Council is inviting applications from suitably qualified asbestos removal contractors to be placed on a select tender list for an asbestos removal contract at the former Greater Manchester Police headquarters located on Irwell Street, Bury.

Bury Council is inviting applications from suitably qualified asbestos removal contractors to be placed on a select tender list for an asbestos removal contract at the former Greater Manchester Police headquarters located on Irwell Street, Bury. The estimated cost of the contract is in the region of £400 000. Applicants will be required to complete the Pre Qualification Questionnaire (PQQ) which will then be evaluated in order to draw up a select tender list of up to 6nr contractors.
It is anticipated that tenders for the contract will be invited in March 2012, the award of the contract will be on the basis of lowest price with work on site anticipated to start in May 2012, the planned completion is September 2012.
The council will not be liable for any costs incurred in the completion of the PQQ. The completed Pre Qualification Questionnaire (PQQ) should be uploaded together with any additional information required to the CHEST before 12noon on Wednesday 7th March 2012. PQQ’s uploaded after this date / time will not be considered.  Expression of interest will close Tuesday 6th March 2012 at 12noon.
