The awarding authority is seeking two (2) contractors for the provision of asbestos removal works to its housing stock and operational buildings in the north and south of the borough. There are currently 55 000 residential properties (40 460 tenanted and 14 540 leaseholder properties), circa 212 operational buildings (non-residential) composed of 48 schools and 164 public buildings. The contracts will include asbestos removal, encapsulation of asbestos materials and reinstatement works on an ad hoc basis. The contractors will be required to provide a 24/7 365 day (52 weeks) emergency response removal service. The awarding authority is seeking two (2) contractors that will deliver fantastic customer service, achieve high levels of resident and stakeholder satisfaction, deliver repairs ‘right first time’ every time with a motivated and highly focused workforce committed to delivering an excellent service.

The estimated value of each contract for Lot 1 (Contract A) and Lot 2 (Contract B) (see below) are GBP 1 005 000 per annum and GBP 845 000 per annum respectively. Tenderers may tender for both contracts but can only be awarded one contract. The appointed contractors for both contracts will provide their services across the borough and will be required to provide 24 hour emergency cover.

Pre-qualification questionnaires will be distributed to any organisation expressing an interest in these contracts to the contact detailed in Section 1. All pre-qualification questionnaires must be requested and submitted by the time and date noted in Section IV.3.4.
The awarding authority is not liable for any costs (including any third party costs, fees or expenses) incurred by those expressing an interest in or tendering for these contract opportunities.
