Asbestos-removal work. Asbestos removal services. Greenfields intends to let a contract for Asbestos Service and Works. The Contract will be let for a 3 year period, intended to commence 16.3.2013, with an option to extend for a further 2 x 12 month periods. The estimated value of this service is 300 000 GBP (including VAT) per annum.
Greenfields is seeking a Principal Contractor (sub contracting will not be allowed) to provide, but not limited to:
— asbestos consultancy and surveying,
— establishing, managing and updating a web-accessible asbestos register database system,
— asbestos laboratory services and bulk sampling,
— project management of asbestos works,
— analytical services such as four-stage site clearance inspections and certificated safe re-occupation,
— emergency out-of-hours asbestos consultancy and management response service,
— delivering asbestos related training.
Asbestos abatement/removal works and general building works for reinstatement must be sub contracted and be managed by the Principal Contractor. An emergency out-of-hours asbestos works response is also a requirement.

Greenfields is seeking a Principal Contractor, in the form of an Asbestos Consultant, to provide a comprehensive range of asbestos related services and associated works. As such, the Principal Contractor will demonstrate independence, impartiality and integrity towards supporting the Client’s safe management of asbestos containing materials in compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
Asbestos containing materials will be located within Greenfields domestic housing stock, the associated communal and neighbourhood areas and within the related out-building structures, all of which are located across the Braintree District.
The Principal Contractor will operate on behalf of Greenfields as a key source of expertise and competence for asbestos related services and works. Including all related administration tasks, communications with various stakeholders, notifications to statutory bodies and the provision of technical documentation and records. They will also manage the removal works though their independent sub contractor.
UKAS accreditation for ISO 17020 and ISO 17025 (or EU equivalent) must held and maintained by the Principal Contractor throughout the duration of this contract.
Asbestos training courses provided by the Principal Contractor (including ‘Asbestos Awareness’ and ‘P405 Management of Asbestos in Buildings’) must be ideally either BHOS or UKATA certified.
Any selected asbestos removal sub-contractor must hold a full HSE asbestos license throughout the duration of this contract irrespective of whether or not the asbestos work requires an HSE asbestos license.
