Asbestos Surveys for Norwich City Council

Norwich City Council has a requirement for a supplier to carrying out of ad-hoc Asbestos Surveys of NCC maintained properties where the council is the Duty Holder to produce information to continue to form part of the Councils Asbestos Register in order to comply with Regulation 4 of the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012. The services that the selected supplier will be required to provide will include, but will not be limited to: •undertaking and recording thorough management or refurbishment/demolition standard sampling •identification and assessment survey to locate materials suspected of containing asbestos, or materials that could be mistaken as containing asbestos •recording the extent, condition, surface treatment and accessibility of those materials •determining and recording the asbestos type either by collecting representative samples for laboratory identification or by making a presumption or strong presumption based on the product type and appearance. This contract is also to include the re-inspection of identified and presumed asbestos containing materials within the Council’s non-domestic portfolio as required. We shall require the contractor to conduct air monitoring and reoccupation certification as required.
