Cheshire West and Chester Council is looking to invest in new delivery models that can improve outcomes for local residents and local partners.  We know the benefits that assistive technology can have in supporting residents to live independent lives; providing peace of mind to citizens and carers.

Building on the work to date, to improve services and value to citizens of Cheshire West in accordance with the Health and Wellbeing Strategy we are seeking to extend the service significantly from the exisiting 380 customers.

We will expect the successful bidder to set out in their bid how they will increase the take up of the Service during the Contract period.

The 380 current customers use equipment owned by the Council and the successful bidder will have to maintain this equipment as well as providing new equipment to any additional customers

The contract will comprise all aspects of an assistive technology wellbeing service: referral, assessment of need, installation, maintenance and removal service.  Tenderers will also need to provide 24 hour monitoring and response services along with a Carers’ Card service.  All elements must be in accordance with the Telecare Services Authority (TSA) code of practice for existing and future assistive technology customers of the council.

The aim of the service is to support people to improve their quality of life by enabling them to take greater control of their environment, help people keep their independence for as long as possible and feel safe and secure in their own home.  The service will also provide evidence to support the Council’s commitment to the Care Quality Commission outcomes for individuals living in Cheshire West and Chester.
