Description of the goods or services required

The University of Aberdeen currently uses IBM Tivoli Storage Manager v.5.5 as an integrated backup solution. As this software is currently approaching its end-of-life, vendors are invited to offer either upgrade or replacement solutions. The University is open to any commercial option for upgrade or replacement.

We are looking for an integrated backup solution which is equivalent in capability to or improved over the current backup solution in use in the university environment, as detailed in the tender specification document attached to this tender.

We are looking for a primarily onsite solution, but are open to the use of cloud-based solution components in line with our security requirements.

Total quantity or scope of tender

It is anticipated that the cost will be no more than £90,000 for hardware and software inclusive. We are open to innovative ways of dealing with solution cost. We would accept a higher implementation cost within reason, where it can be shown that it would be recouped in longer-term maintenance.
