Leicester City Council are currently looking for trainers or training providers for a One-day Minute Taking Training Course for Leicester City Council.

The course would be designed for Local Authority employees at various levels who will be taking notes for meetings or case conferences or political meetings. Below are details of the requirements:

Course Duration
The expected course duration should be 1 day and will be required up to 4 times per year. This engagement is available for potentially 3 years

Course Venue
Training itself would be conducted at Leicester City Council premises

Course topics we would expect to be covered are:

• Types of meetings in a local authority and how to approach them
• How to contribute or compose an effective agenda
• The structure of an agenda
• How to structure minutes in a logical way
• Setting and formatting minutes
• Practical arrangements for meetings
• About security and confidentiality
• Techniques of taking notes
• Brief session on when and how to take verbatim minutes
• The importance of summary, practical and action notes
• Practical exercises and experience of note taking
• How to use Leicester City Council admin templates

What we would expect to be included
• Delegate handbook/hand-outs
• Electronic materials that can be used as a reference point post-event
• Certification

What we would wish to see in the quotation and the cost breakdown
• Suggested outline of the day with sufficient detail to illustrate the provider’s approach
• A short profile of presenter(s) who would be delivering the training including, where appropriate, experience in this field
• Design costs
• Delivery cost per event
• Estimated travel expenses costs per event
• Where applicable meals and accommodation costs
• Two references
• Materials and printing costs per event

Copies of insurance certificates (levels as per Training Providers Agreement

Only quotations on the form below will be accepted. However, any supporting documents will be considered. The Successful provider will also be asked to sign up to a Training Providers Agreement (please see below). Please ensure you are able to meet the requirements.
