This service will help us minimise the risk to local residents and visitors alike using a combination of education, signage and formal lifeguard patrols. Key requirements are: Provision, delivery and monitoring of lifeguard services at key beach locations based on sound risk assessment and focussing on high footfall areas and areas with complicated hazards. Evidence of comprehensive employment and training systems for all managers/supervisors and lifeguards. Education programme to run alongside that run by Thanet District Council in local schools and at key community events. Investment in water safety equipment and high visibility viewing points for key locations. Support the content and placement of water safety signage around coastline and achievement of quality assurance awards. Assist Thanet District Council and its partners in terms of beach cleanliness and implementation of the Council bye-laws. This procurement is to be conducted as an open tendering process and Contractors will be required to demonstrate that they meet minimum operational, technical and financial criteria necessary for the satisfactory performance of this Contract. As part of their bid, suppliers will be expected to provide evidence of their experience in running these types of services and the investment they can bring to the infrastructure supporting the service. Contractors wishing to participate must register interest and download Invitation to Tender (ITT) documents + return address label attached. Tender documents must be returned as per instructions as included within the ITT and received by no later than 1700hrs Friday 10th February 2012.
