Description

Nottingham City Council and NHS Nottingham City seek to appoint an experienced support provider to deliver a family befriending service.

The Service will improve a family’s wellbeing holistically, to include the children, parents and wider family that may have a direct impact upon a family. The service will recruit, train and match volunteers with families to offer informal, comprehensive and confidential home-visiting support. In addition, the Service will provide drop in sessions to families to facilitate and develop peer support mechanisms.

The service will take a holistic approach to working with the whole family and focusing on children across the 0-19 age range.

The service will:
• provide parenting information, engagement and targeted support to families in Nottingham City with additional needs in relation to their parenting.
• work holistically with families experiencing issues in order to prevent them reaching a point of crisis.
• provide services in line with the Family Support Strategy
• principally focus on families requiring ‘Additional Support’.
