BEST Training: Construction Waste Management Training

2.2

Description of the goods or services required

The Welsh Government has clearly positioned the pursuit of green jobs in the context of a transition to a more sustainable and low carbon economy. The Built Environment Sustainability Training (BEST) programme provides a strategy for the development and delivery of tailored, relevant, sustainability-focused training for the existing Built Environment workforce of Wales, delivered using a blend of traditional and blended-learning courses which will lead to transferable qualifications and skills in new technologies, applications and process that will future-proof the built environment whilst enhancing Wales’ reputation as the frontrunner of sustainability in the UK and beyond.

BEST is a collaborative programme led by the Welsh School of Architecture at Cardiff University (CU-WSA) in partnership with Asset Skills, CITB, Constructing Excellence in Wales, the Energy Saving Trust, Proskills and SummitSkills. BEST is supported by the European Social Fund, through the Welsh Government to deliver training until July 2015.
