Great Ormond Street Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (GOSH) requires a comprehensive Tissue Typing Service for three of its departments: the Bone Marrow Transplant Team (BMT), Cardiothoracic Surgery Unit and the Rheumatology Service. The BMT unit at GOSH is the largest paediatric BMT centre in the UK. The Cardiothoracic Unit is one of the biggest referral units in the UK. The Authority is looking for a contractor to provide the tissue typing testing and analysis. This service will be provided by a Clinical Pathology Accredited Lab (CPA) and European Federation for Immunogenetics (EFI) accredited laboratory experienced in the successful provision of an excellent clinical and analytical service which meets the needs of the Trust in terms of quality, cost and technical expertise. Contractors are expected to have stem cell and cardiothoracic tissue testing experience, and have been providing a comparable service.
