Pupils in Bradford who have been permanently excluded or are at risk of exclusion from mainstream secondary schools and require long term support, receive their education in the District PRU (MORE4U). The District PRU is a virtual “school” that consists of a number of different providers each providing alternative education for a small group of young people. The District PRU is managed by the local authority and was registered with the DfE in November 2008. The PRU was inspected by Ofsted in November 2009 and was judged “satisfactory with some good features”.
Bradford Council in partnership with local schools now wishes to develop the District PRU to achieve an outstanding service that results in excellent outcomes for some of the most vulnerable young people in the District. The intention is to commission organisations to provide a refreshed PRU from September 2013.
As part of this process Bradford Council wishes to consult with relevant organisations who could contribute to the development of the PRU. This includes, but is not limited to, organisations who may be interested in competing to provide MORE4U services.
A consultation / market engagement event is planned for 18th September 2012 in Bradford. Further details will be provided to attendees prior to the event.
Any organisation(s) or person(s) who would like to participate in this event should contact in the first instance to the Childrens Services Commisioning Team Administration on +44 1274437902 or via email providing a contact point name, telephone number, email address and organisation name.
